What's the best way to welcome a dog into a new home with other dogs?
It really depends on the dog or dogs already in the home. If you have a fun loving dog, like a Labrador Retriever who will play with anyone, it makes it very simple to bring a new dog home. But if you have a dog that's very territorial, you want to introduce the new dog slowly. You can give them something with the new dog’s scent on it, and vice versa. Do this over the course of two to three days before you actually allow a meeting. Of course, the new dog also has its own personality, and sometimes they may be resistant – or like the fun loving Lab. Think about the best way to deal with the types of personalities the dogs have – that should get you started.
