Dr. Kwane Stewart is the Chief Veterinary Officer at Kismet. With over two decades of experience in veterinary medicine and a recognized commitment to animal welfare, his leadership is instrumental in guiding Kismet's product development and ensuring the highest standards of pet health and nutrition.

Dr. Kwane was named the 2023 CNN Hero of the Year in honor of his work founding and operating Project Street Vet, a non-profit that provides medical care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness. Since starting Project Street Vet in 2020, he and his volunteer teams have treated thousands of animals while giving their human parents hope and dignity, too – aligning with Kismet's mission and brand ethos.

Project Street Vet is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit public charity that provides free veterinary care, treatment, and support to the pets of individuals experiencing homelessness and/or housing vulnerability. Project Street Vet was founded by Kismet's Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Kwane Stewart, who for the past decade has provided free veterinary care to pets of people experiencing homelessness – often personally walking areas of high homelessness to seek pets and pet parents in need.

Paws for Life is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit public organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs from high-kill shelters. The organization aims to give these animals a second chance at life by providing them with medical care, training, and fostering until they can be placed in loving forever homes through adoption. The Paws for Life Prison Program relieves overcrowded shelters by sending dogs to prisons for training and socialization, increasing their chances of successful adoption. This hallmark program evolved to include training service dogs for military veterans with PTSD, first responders in California Fire departments, children with autism, victims of violent crimes, and youth who have been victims of school shootings.

Recognizing the transformative power of dogs as companions and rehabilitation partners, we are committed to programs rooted in the belief that every individual – regardless of past struggles – deserves a chance at redemption.

Founded by longtime dog lovers Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, Kismet makes food for dogs that is as healthy as fresh, as easy as dry, and the most delicious; lifestyle goods; and content for today's modern dog families.

Dogs have always been a big part of our lives. We grew up with them, we got our first dog together in 2008, and now we have four party animals (Penny, Pearl, Pebbles, and Petey – try saying that fast). But most dog brands have never really spoken to us or felt true to what pet parenting is like. Life with dogs can be messy and hectic, yet also totally heart melting. We wanted a brand that felt like that.

So we decided to build one together – a brand for pets and their people. That starts with food that's as healthy as fresh, as easy as dry, and the most delicious (y'all know we take food seriously in this house). Most dry foods are cheap and unhealthy, and fresh food is expensive and inconvenient. So we made something different: recipes filled with irresistible ingredients, pre & probiotics, and freeze-dried nugs that dogs devour.

We're also a space for learning more about dogs (care of our Chief Vet Dr. Kwane Stewart) and for celebrating them with the fun and humor they deserve. (Check out Tails). And merch – we needed some good dog merch!

Our hearts remain with all of the people and animals impacted by the devastating wildfires in our hometown of Los Angeles. Hundreds of dogs have been displaced, and animal shelters here are beyond capacity. Fostering greatly increases a dog's chances of being permanently adopted and relieves shelters of housing and feeding them.
