The best way to know if your dog is getting all the nutrients they need is to ask your veterinarian; they can give you a complete nutritional profile. But here are four things you can look for on your own:
The first is your dog's weight. To determine if your dog is at a healthy weight, rub your hands over your dog's chest. When you do this, you should barely be able to feel their ribs.
The second is healthy, well-formed stools and good bowel habits. Over time, you’ll know what that means for your dog.
The third is your dog's energy level. This is somewhat subjective, but you will know over time what's normal for your dog.
Fourth is their coat. When your dog is getting all the nutrients they need, their coat should look shiny and vibrant. When they're deprived of nutrients, their coat is often dull and sometimes their hair is coarse and brittle.
